Why Graduate Record Examination?
Test creator ETS created and administers the GRE to give graduate and business schools a common way to compare candidates’ credentials and readiness for work at the graduate level. The GRE score, together with your academic record and supporting papers, is evaluated by graduate school and business school admissions committees to determine if you are prepared for the demanding nature of graduate study.
Eligibility criteria
The GRE is administered by ETS, and the test's eligibility requirements have not been specified. Regarding the candidate's eligibility to take the GRE, there are no limitations on age. Nonetheless, the university and the program for which you are applying will have their own requirements for being able to offer the course.
How to apply
The GRE registration takes place in 4 steps-
- Create an account on ETS website
- Select the test centers and GRE date
- Fill the personal details and verify them
- Pay the fee

The GRE is accepted by every prestigious university in the world, including those in Singapore, the USA, UK, Europe and India.
GRE exam and syllabus structure
There are two options available for taking the GRE: General and Subject Tests. In a general exam, students' analytical writing, numeric, and verbal skills are evaluated. Nonetheless, certain colleges may also administer a subject exam to evaluate an applicant's proficiency in particular subjects, such as biology, physics, or chemistry.
In general, there are three areas on the GRE where you must perform well:
- Verbal reasoning
- Analytical writing
- Quantitative reasoning

The GRE is administered in more than a thousand test locations worldwide. It is a computer-based test that is available in over 160 nations at different places.
